Professor Spellbinder's
Woodcraft Witchcraft

All of the following items are made from thin craft wood, foam board, paper and foam craft sheets. You will need light wood or foam cutting and drilling tools to make them.

The effects that I describe in these e-Books are NOT Hippity Hop Rabbits effects … although I am sure that you realize you could easily make any two characters in different color outfits, have them pass back and forth between tubes cut from foamboard, and finally turn them around to show them dressed in completely different color outfits.

Nor do I make use of the Fraidy-Cat Rabbit effect, although I am sure you realize that you could make that effect with any of these characters by making a foamboard box.

It should also be noted that these are standing figures, not playing cards, jumbo or otherwise. Effects making use of jumbo card methods are pretty much covered in The Wizards' Journal #17.

If you want any of the above traditional effects, you don't need to buy any of these e-Books; just apply the principles to whatever characters your heart desires.

I prefer to make my Woodcraft Witchcraft effects happen out in the open, away from foamboard boxes or tubes, unless, of course, they add to the story. For each effect included in this section, expect to find NEW and DIFFERENT methods, effects, and principles.

How does it work? When do I get my purchases? How are they delivered? Where is everybody?

$5.00

Tinkerbell

A Woodcraft project complete with the Disney seal of approval! The work is already half done for you and just needs some magic touches to put Tinkerbell to work. Oh, yes, and you'll also need a tinkly bell!

WC01-02

$5.00

Dapper Dan

This Foamboard/ Basswood project can be used to perform a mental act for kids... or adults. Dapper Dan is a foamboard or basswood doll, the kind that needs to be dressed up with attachment clothing. You get tired of dressing him with the audience's choices of clothing, so you decide to speed things up with magic. They just THINK of the items of clothing and before you can say "Whiz Bam!" they appear on Dapper Dan.

This can also be used as a Boy or Girl Scout effect, making the uniform appear hap-hazardly at first, and then all straightened out. The character can be changed as well; a clown, a cowboy, a pirate, a princess, etc.

WC01-03

$5.00

Super Hero

Super heroes come in all forms, shapes and sizes. Here's one that starts out as a cartoon character and transforms into the host or hostess of the party being given. Mon or Dad (or both) becomes Super Heroes!

WC01-04

$5.00

Circus Capers

This will take a little more effort than our first three projects. You will be building a circus tent of foamboard and circus acts from either woodboard, foamboard or even cardboard. There's Dainty the Dancing Elephant, Peter the Prancing Pony, High Flying Sam the acrobat, and Joe King, the clown... no joking! One of them will vanish from the hands of the spectators.

WC01-05

$5.00

Red Riding Wolf

These woodcraft or foamboard figures will be used to tell the familiar story of Little Red Riding Hood, the Big Bad Wolf, and Grandma. But a word of warning! Grandma does't like to be fooled!

WC01-06

$5.00

Multiplying Rabbits

This used to be done with little sponge bunnies. Here's the woodcraft bunny version and the rabbits are getting better at both multiplication and division!

WC01-07

$5.00

Paul Bunyan and Babe

Tell the story of Paul Bunyan and his giant Ox, Babe. This makes use of some REALLY BIG pieces of foamboard. It's a good thing foamboard is lightweight and easy to carry!

WC01-08

$5.00

Jack and the Beanstalk

An entire short play in one act. The figures are made of woodcraft or foamboard, the beanstalk is a rope dyed green, and you'll need lots of little helpers to stage it!

WC01-09

$5.00

Over the Rainbow

You may THINK you know this one when you see the growing and shrinking rainbows, but these can out-perform the traditional ones. You are left with a giant rainbow that can then be used with the next project.

WC01-10

$5.00

Off to See the Wizard

Here are all the familiar characters of Oz; Dorethy and Toto, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion. You get to play the part of the Wizard.
